Little League World Series: Illinois advances to play Nevada in United States Championship Game

As of Thursday night, we already knew that Nevada would be playing for the United States Championship of the Little League World Series, however we just did not know who their opponent would be. Well, now we do, as the Jackie Robinson West team from the state of Illinois has advanced to a date with Nevada by defeating Mo’Ne Davis and the Pennsylvania squad.


It was an amazing run for the Taney Dragons from the City of Brotherly Love in Philadelphia, and the world was introduced to the young baseball phenom that is Davis. But in the end, two consecutive losses to Nevada and this Illinois team ended their incredible run that they have no reason to be ashamed of.

But the story here is that we are getting closer and closer to finding out who the Little League World Series Champion will be for the 2014 season.

This Illinois team and Nevada will play for the United States Championship on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM ET, for the right to move on to the final game against the International winner, which will be either Japan or South Korea. Those two teams will play on Saturday as well in the earlier game.
