As we found out this past Sunday, the 2015 edition of WWE SummerSlam will be leaving Los Angeles and making a move to the east coast to the New York/New Jersey area. However, no official site was announced, but they could be returning to the site of WrestleMania 29, inside MetLife Stadium.
According to a report from PWMania, while there is talk of holding the event inside either the Barclays or Izod Centers, there has also been some discussion of holding the event inside the enormous NFL stadium, making the event an even bigger spectacle than it already is.
PWMania.com reported there was talk of holding the 2015 WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view at either the Barclays Center in Brooklyn or the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ.
Even though the event would be held during the summer, there was some talk of trying to host the event at MetLife Stadium, the site of WrestleMania 29.
Of course, once it was announced that SummerSlam would be heading to the New York area, people immediately assumed that they would be returning to the WWE center of Madison Square Garden, however that has been ruled out completely at this point.
SummerSlam has not been held inside a big stadium since 1992, when they went over to England and broadcast from Wembley Stadium. That show is still regarded as maybe the best SummerSlam of all time to this day.
