Tailgating is as much a part of college football as the actual game itself as fans flock to the stadium two and three days in advance of kickoff to begin the party.

From Illinois State to Mississippi State to Ohio State, I have never met a tailgate that wasn’t a memorable experience filled with great food, drinks, company and unique traditions.

However, these are the 15 best sites for fans who love to tailgate before walking into the stadium to watch the football. Heck, plenty of fans show up to the stadium for the sole purpose of tailgating and don’t even plan on buying a ticket or using the ticket they already purchased, because they are having too much outside.

Limiting the list to 15 schools meant a number of great tailgating venues did not make the final cut, so after reading the list, please comment with your thoughts and opinions. Tell me who should be ranked higher or lower on the list and make the case for your favorite spot.

Without further ado, here are the top 15 tailgating venues in college football.
