There has been a lot of back and forth between WWE legends Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan. There has been some talks, albeit possibly wishful thinking, that a match could be on the horizon.

More from WWE

Wade Keller had Stone Cold Steve Austin on his Wade Keller Livecast on Friday and asked him about him getting back in the ring any time soon.

“I’ll reserve my right to, if I want to have a match down the road and I see…” Stone Cold says before switching gears. “Okay, say like Dallas, Texas is going to be [WrestleMania] 32 correct?”

Keller confirms and acknowledges that 32 will be in Dallas pointing out that San Francisco is the host of WrestleMania 31. Stone Cold Steve Austin, who made an appearance at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans though he did not wrestle, points out that WrestleMania 31 is right down the road from him but says he doesn’t see wrestling at 31 as an option.

“Now Dallas, that could be very special, going back to Texas for 32,” Austin says. “They’re going to need a loaded card to fill that house. So I’ll reserve my right, but am I pushing, pandering, selling, promoting? Nothing?”

That would be one incredible homecoming for the Texas Rattlesnake, and Jerry Jones would love to have him on the WWE card at AT&T Stadium.

Keller and Stone Cold go on to discuss the difficulty of preparing for a singular match and that the idea that it isn’t a large commitment is false. They discuss in detail the amount of time and energy that would go into getting into ring shape to live up to the standard and expectations of fans, and more importantly how that wold affect Stone Cold’s other ventures.

He estimates that it would take three to four months to get back into shape for the match, not just training and getting into shape, but knocking off ring rust by working in the ring and taking bumps. He also talks about the hurdles of wrestling in the present WWE that would make him hesitant, namely the micromanaging and scripted promos.

If he returns he wants to be able to do things his way.
