The San Francisco 49ers get to treat their fans to another game at the brand new Levi’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon, but they will hope that things run a little more smoothly when they welcome the San Diego Chargers to town as Week 3 of the NFL preseason comes to an end.

San Francisco has yet to win a preseason game this offseason, while the Chargers have split both appearances.

While the starters will start a majority of the reps this weekend in the “dress rehearsal” match up for both teams, one interesting thing to watch will be the back up quarterback play for the 49ers.

If Blaine Gabbert is not able to go out and look like a NFL quarterback for the first time in three weeks, the 49ers may be left with no choice but to trade for someone like Christian Ponder of the Minnesota Vikings for insurance.
