Jerry Jones has a lot of stuff he could worry about with regards to his Cowboys, including a defense that has a chance to be historically bad in 2014.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Near the top of Jerry’s worry list is the health of quarterback Tony Romo, who is coming off back surgery. The QB needs to stay on his feet if the Cowboys are going to do anything this year, and that’s why Jones became concerned when he saw Romo taking shots during Dallas’ preseason game against the Dolphins (via star-telegram.com):

"“I’ll be very candid with you: They were doing a pretty good job with their defensive front, so he took those three sacks,” Jones said. “That concerned me, not because of being able to correct what it takes to block them, but it just concerned me that he was taking those sacks.”"

Jerry would prefer that Romo either throw the ball away or flop to the ground or run away like a little girl. Anything but take more sacks.

Jerry has seen Brandon Weeden play football, and it rocked his soul.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, for his part, doesn’t see anything wrong with Romo taking a few shots in the preseason to loosen up his bones:

"“It was good to see Tony out there playing,” Garrett said. “He got knocked around a little bit, and that could be good and bad. You want the protection to be clean, but at the same time for him, in his preparation for San Francisco, it’s good to have him feel the physical part of the game.”"

Jerry wonders if there’s some way that Romo could feel the physical part of the game without actually experiencing impact. Madden maybe?
