For the past season plus, Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen was a teammate of LeBron James during his tenure with the Miami Heat.

More from LeBron James

James of course left for greener pastures while Andersen decided to re-sign with the Heat this offseason. It was said that the Cleveland Cavaliers, James’ new team had interest in signing Birdman but Andersen was quick to re-sign in South Beach, shockingly leaving an alleged Cavaliers deal on the table.

Birdman immediately came out and suggested that he never thought about leaving the Miami Heat and recently told the Sun Sentential that his decision to stay was all about loyalty.

“It was definitely the loyalty from the fans and from the team,” said Andersen. “That had a big part of it. And it’s matter of me ending my career in a place that I’d be happy at and am familiar with.”

Was that a subtle shot at LeBron James? It’s obvious that some of his former teammates weren’t exactly thrilled with his decision to sign in Cleveland, though it would certainly be an odd thing to question King James on considering he returned to his former team (a sign of loyalty). Though, on the flip side he’s also the same player that originally spurned them, so there could be an argument made regarding James’ loyalty.

For what it’s worth, Birdman went on to suggest that he will miss playing with LeBron James and wished him well, though the loyalty suggestion may be taken as a possible parting shot considering Andersen has only played a season and a half with the Miami Heat.
