When Micheal Sam was first drafted by the St. Louis Rams, many believed it was just to get him drafted to the NFL could have a special and progressive moment.

More from Los Angeles Rams

But fast forward to today and Sam has continued to make an impact on the team that everyone is noticing. He’s not running away with a job, but he still has one and that’s something some didn’t think would be the case.

As Albert Breer from NFL Network points out, the St. Louis rams have submitted their first round of roster cuts and Michael Sam’s name is not among those leaving the team.

Of course, this in no way means Sam is going to be making the Rams roster, but the bottom line is he’s still around and that’s huge. His sack of Johnny Manziel this weekend was a big moment for him, and the money dance afterwords shows that while Sam is humble off the field, he’s hungry while on it.
