The Atlanta Falcons are giving their season-ticket holders an opportunity that surely many won’t pass up: a visit to their seats from cheerleaders during home games.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell has details on the unique plan:

"It’s part of the team’s “Memories” program, which seeks to give the team’s most loyal fans experiences that they will remember.Fans can use memory points, which they are awarded based on longevity of being a season-ticket holder, to stand on the field during the player intros, get a personal visit from the team mascot or receive an autograph from a Falcons player. But it’s the cheerleader visit that has been getting the most attention."

Still, the Falcons recognize there is the possibility of ugliness by sending cheerleaders to fans and it’s something they are prepared for.

"“It’s not like you can order them to your seat after you’ve had eight beers,” said Jim Smith, the team’s chief marketing and revenue officer.(…)“If things don’t look right, we’re not going there,” Smith said. “But often, we’ve seen this is ordered by families whose daughters cheer and want to meet the girls.”"

Rovell reports that cheerleaders will be escorted by security to those who order this visit.

With the proper pre-cautions in place, this is a pretty cool idea by the Falcons. Cheerleaders are obviously a big part of the fan experience and Atlanta has come up with a method of making it even bigger.

The Falcons first home game of the season is on Sept. 7 versus the New Orleans Saints.
