Obviously the Chicago Bulls need point guard Derrick Rose to be healthy to contender in the Eastern Conference but if they truly want to win a championship, it will take a lot more than simply keeping Rose healthy. With LeBron James and Kevin Love now on the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Central Division is going to be quite the battle.

More from Chicago Bulls

Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders points out that the Bulls have a very small margin for error.

"That however doesn’t remove the cloud of doubt hanging over the Bulls franchise or Rose himself. Rose has looked incredible in Team USA play, but even the National team is taking a deliberate and measured approach with Rose, trying to insure that he is ready for the World Cup games in Spain. If the Bulls have to play things the same way, the Bulls may run into some issues.Until Rose proves he is completely healthy and can handle a full NBA workload there will be doubt and with the Central Division now significantly better with a much improved Cleveland Cavaliers team, the Bulls won’t have much margin for error and they will absolutely need a healthy Rose to win the Division."

Rose averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game while shooting 35.4% from the field, 34.0% from beyond the arc and 84.4% from the free throw line in 10 games last season season. In his career, he has averaged 20.8 points, 6.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46.0% from the field, 31.2% from three and 81.5% from the charity stripe.
