Dion Waiters’ first two years in the NBA did not come and go without controversy. There were reported problems between the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard and his star point guard Kyrie Irving and Waiters has been a constant in trade rumors.

But things are looking up for Waiters. The Cavs acquired both LeBron James and Kevin Love this summer and the two superstars are apparently big believers in his game.

Dion recently told Philly.com that Love believes he is “underrated.”

"Whenever he’s in Los Angeles, Waiters also trains regularly with Kevin Love, who joined him and James with the Cavaliers as the primary piece of the three-team trade that sent Andrew Wiggins and Young to the Timberwolves.“He likes my game,” Waiters said. “He thinks I’m underrated. One of the things about K-Love, he knows I pass the ball.”"

James mentioned he was looking forward to playing with Waiters in his famous letter for Sports Illustrated where he announced his decision to join the Cavs.

"I think I can help Kyrie Irving become one of the best point guards in our league. I think I can help elevate Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters."

This summer could not have worked out better for Waiters.  He almost certainly won’t be traded after receiving endorsements from both of the Cavs’ new franchise cornerstones.

Waiters averaged 15.9 points, 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game in 2013-14 with the Cavs.
