The SEC saw surprises on both sides of the conference as the Auburn Tigers won the west division after a three-win season in 2012 that saw the team go winless in the SEC in 2012 and the Missouri Tigers pulled won the east in their second year in the conference.

Will 2014 see either one of last year’s champions repeat and make it back to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game where the winner is likely to occupy one of the four spots in the College Football Playoff?

The Alabama Crimson Tide will loom large in the West after dropping the Iron Bowl to Auburn and seeing their bid for a third straight national championship dashed and a couple of upstart programs in the west threaten to break into the upper-tier in the west.

Meanwhile, the east division will once again a heavyweight fight between the traditional powers like the Georgia Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks, but can the Florida Gators make some noise after an injury-riddled season a year ago saw them lose eight games?

Without further ado, here are the preseason SEC power rankings for the 2014 college football season.
