The hits keep on-n-n-n-n comin’ for the Colorado Rockies.

Already down their two best players for the season in shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, the Rockies on Wednesday placed catcher Wilin Rosario and left-handed reliever Boone Logan on the 15-day disabled list, per the official Twitter feed for MLB transactions:

Rosario is battling inflammation in his left wrist and hasn’t played since Friday, so his DL stint was made retroactive to Saturday. It’s his second DL stint of the season; he missed two weeks in May with a viral infection.

More from Colorado Rockies

It’s been a tough year for Rosario—and the Rockies, who are a distant last in the National League West at 53-78. Rosario is hitting .248/.289/.399 in 91 games this season, with 35 runs, 20 doubles, 10 home runs and 43 RBI. Last season, Rosario posted a .292/.315/.486 slash line with 21 homers and 79 RBI.

Logan is also dealing with a sore left wrist. Signed as a free agent in December after four seasons with the New York Yankees, Logan has had a disastrous year, with a 6.84 ERA and 1.680 WHIP in 35 appearances and 25 innings.

He led the American League with 80 appearances in 2012 and signed a three-year, $16.5 million deal with the Rockies.

Colorado recalled left-hander Christian Friedrich and catcher Jackson Williams from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Friedrich made three starts earlier this season for the Rockies and was 0-3 with a 9.45 ERA and 2.175 WHIP in 13.1 innings. This will be the second big-league call-up for Williams, 28, who has played eight seasons in the minors after being taken in the first round, 43rd overall, by the San Francisco Giants in 2007 out of t6he University of Oklahoma.

Hitting has been a problem for Williams throughout his minor-league career—his .256/.353/.368 slash line at Colorado Springs is a career-best. He has four homers and 34 RBI in 72 games with the Sky Sox.

He signed as a minor-league free agent in December and did not appear in a game during three days on the Rockies’ roster in June.
