The defending college football champion Florida State Seminoles will wear decals on their helmet supporting the Kidz1stFund when they take the field Saturday night for their season opener against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the football program announced on Wednesday.

The Kidz1stFund was created by Seminole head coach Jimbo Fisher and his wife, Candi, to raise awareness for Fanconi amenia.

Their mission statement reads:

"Kidz1stFund was created to raise awareness and funds in support of research to fight Fanconi anemia, a rare but serious blood disease that affects thousands of children each year. New treatments are being developed, and breakthroughs are on the horizon, but defeating this illness will require the help of generous souls from every walk of life."

This is a really cool thing for the Florida State program to do, especially considering this disease is so near and dear to the Fisher family. Jimbo and Candi’s son was diagnosed with Fanconia amenia, which led to the creation of the fund.
