Twitter opens analytics dashboard to all

Have you ever wondered just exactly how far the power of social media reaches?  Have you ever thought about how many people you may in fact be talking to at once?  Programs such as Google Analytics exist to show you this kind of information, however, Twitter has now opened up its Analytics Dashboard to all.

More from Technology

Prior to being open to all, Twitter’s analytics tool was only available to verified users and paying advertisers.

Twitter front end engineer Ian Chan shared the news via, of course, his Twitter account:

The only ramifications required to now access the Twitter analytics tool is that your account must have been opened for 14 days and isn’t suspended/restricted/protected, as well as tweeting in English, French, Japanese, or Spanish.

While it is true that Google ANalytics does essentially the same thing, the point of Google’s tool is more focused around the application towards websites as a whole.  With Twitter now allowing users the ability to see their own analytics, you can further break down, analyze, and understand the effectiveness of your own Twitter account.

You may have seen the automated tweets with users bragging about their reach or account size, but now you can get the numbers directly from Twitter and see just how powerful your following is.  The analytics tool provides a great opportunity for growth amongst business users as well.
