The 2014 college football season officially got underway Wednesday night, when Georgia State recorded their first win since Maroon 5 topped the Billboard charts with “One More Night” back on Oct. 13 of 2012.
But now that that game is out of the way, it is time for many more nights packed with college football action including the heavy-hitters from around the nation.
Four ranked teams take the field on Thursday night, with No. 18 Ole Miss facing Boise State, No. 19 Arizona State capping off the night against Weber State and, of course, the big game between No. 21 Texas A&M and No. 9 South Carolina to kick off the Thursday night schedule as the two sides prepare for life without Johnny Football and Jadeveon Clowney.
That will take us into Friday night which includes No. 8 Michigan State on the schedule, before we get to enjoy our first full Saturday of college football beginning with Penn State and UCF overseas in Ireland.
With so much football to digest over the next few days on opening weekend, let’s take a look at some of what we can expect to see with college football now officially back in our lives.
