The South Carolina Gamecocks and Texas A&M Aggies are getting the SEC football season kicked off on Thursday night live on the SEC Network, and this game is not void of excitement early on, which was proven by South Carolina quarterback Dylan Thompson and wide receiver Nick Jones.
Texas A&M actually jumped out early 10-0 in this one, shocking not only the fans in attendance at Williams-Brice Stadium, but everyone watching on TV around the country. However, that lead would be cut soon.
As we’ve found out throughout the years, you can’t keep a Steve Spurrier offense down for long. Eventually, Thompson would drop back and find Jones down the field for the 69-yard touchdown strike to Jones, to pull the Gamecocks to within 10-7.

Still, despite the touchdown pass we saw there, South Carolina has provided a lot of concerns thus far, especially on the defensive side of the ball. They’ve rarely had answers when A&M is on offense, which Spurrier will more than certainly take a look at.
As it stands right now at time of publishing, A&M still holds a 10-7 lead in the second quarter.
