The news comes just one day after starting cornerback and senior captain Josh Shaw admitted that he fabricated a story about saving his drowning nephew, which resulted in two ankle sprains. Shaw has been suspended indefinitely by the Trojans.
Now, the team is down another senior and Brown is not going down quietly.
Brown has been on social media taking some shots at the USC program, including some startling allegations against head coach Steve Sarkisian.
In one post on Instagram, Brown alleged that Sarkisian treated him “like a slave in his office” and he posted the photo below:
EDIT: Brown has deleted the post on Instagram, but here is a screen shot.
Brown also posted the following on Facebook, which will only give the USC Trojans football program even more headaches.
Sarkisian was reportedly “shocked” that Brown quit the team.
As for the racist allegations, USC defensive tackle Antwaun Woods has already come to his coach’s defense.
The recent string of off-field distractions is not at all what the USC Trojans need as they prepare for this weekend’s 2014 season opener. However, strangely enough, the Brown situation could ultimately end up helping the Trojans if the team rallies around their head coach to show their support much like Woods has already done.
