The entertainment world got a pretty big scare yesterday when the news broke that television host/comedienne Joan Rivers had been rushed to the hospital after she had stopped breathing during a minor surgery at a New York area clinic.
Thankfully, there is some good news coming out of New York today.
According to ABC News, the legendary comedienne is “resting comfortably” at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York after her scare yesterday. Rivers was having a minor procedure performed at Yorkville Endoscopy when she stopped breathing and 911 had to be contacted.
As we told you yesterday, her daughter Melissa Rivers took the first flight she could get to New York in order to be by her mother’s side.
“I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother,” Melissa Rivers said in a statement released by Mount Sinai Hospital. “She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.” - ABC News
Rivers’ latest health scare comes as a shock to many people, especially considering that earlier that very same day she had been engaging with fans and seemed “as vibrant as ever.”
We are certainly glad to hear that the 81 year hold host of E! Entertainment’s show Fashion Police is doing slightly better now and is seemingly recovering from this unexpected medical event.
As always, if there are any new developments in her condition, we will update you as soon as that information has been made available.
