As Labor Day quickly approaches, pennant races are in full swing in the world of Major League Baseball, and with that, the entire sport is sprinting to the finish line of the regular season. In that vein, the MLB awards are beginning to generate more and more discussion, and in this space, we will provide the top three players in each of the major categories in both leagues.

Last week, we debuted the “MLB Awards Watch” series with word that two pitchers could be in the running for their respective MVP awards, and as we unveil the races as they stand, be sure to take note of the different trends and movement. Here we go.
