It was not an easy season for Brooklyn Nets’ point guard Deron Williams.

More from Brooklyn Nets

Williams was bothered by ankle injuries all season and although he played in 64 regular season games and all 12 playoff games, he had one of the worst seasons of his career.

After the Nets were eliminated in the second round of the postseason by the Miami Heat in five games (following a tough, seven-game series victory over the Toronto Raptors), Williams had surgery on both ankles. Williams was supposed to be on crutches for four-to-six weeks and was projected to resume basketball activities some time in September.

As Nets Daily points out, it looks like Williams already has resumed basketball activities based on a recent instagram post (you can see the video at the bottom of the page).

"Word from various sources within the Nets organization had been that the surgeries went well and that his rehab was on track. The plan, announced last May, was that he would resume basketball activities in September. Now comes this video which seems to indicate he already has!"

Clearly, the Nets need a healthy and rejuvenated Williams if they are going to make any noise this season.

Williams averaged just 14.3 points, 6.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 45.0% from the field, 36.6% from three and 80.1% from the free throw line. last season.  In his nine-year career, the third-overall pick of the 2005 NBA Draft has put up 17.4 points, 8.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 45.3% from the floor, 35.7% from three and 81.7% from the foul line.
