The Oakland Raiders career of Greg Little has come to an end after he was released on Saturday as the Raiders trim their roster to 53.

More from Las Vegas Raiders

Oakland claimed the former Cleveland Browns receiver off waivers in May and Pro Football Talk thinks he could be headed back to his original team. It would seem to make sense on the surface with the state of the receivers in Cleveland, but the team already gave up on him 14 weeks ago, so what would they see in him now that he could possibly be a fit with what they’re trying to do there?

Little, 24, was released by the Browns after a he had 41 receptions for 465 yards and two touchdowns while appearing in 16 games and making 13 starts for the team who drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

The receptions and yards are both career-lows for Little while the two touchdowns matches the career-low he set as a rookie in 2011. He never realized the potential he showed at North Carolina prior to his suspension that also saw Robert Quinn and Marvin Austin declared ineligible.

With 41 starts over three seasons and 48 games played in his three-year career, the Raiders were rolling the dice that a change of scenery would have done wonders for the 6’2”, 215-pound receiver with 155 career catches for 1,821 yards and eight touchdowns.

However, this is yet another drop for the receiver who has a history of drops.

One has to wonder if he will catch on somewhere this year with the regular season one week away.
