After coming back over from the San Francisco 49ers this offseason, the Giants have placed Mannhingham on injured reserve, effectively ending his season before it could even begin. New York also placed kick return specialist Trindon Holliday on IR as well, meaning his year is done as well.
This is disappointing news for the Giants as they were hoping both players could come in and help on the offensive side of the ball this year. Holliday in particular is a let down as he had such an amazing run with the Denver Broncos as a kick returner — an area where the Giants were atrocious in 2013.
It’s going to be a tough season anyways for the Giants and while neither player was a superstar, not having either won’t make things any easier for the Giants.
