7. Steve Young (Buccaneers 1985-1986, 49ers 1987-1999)

The monkey remains off of his back.  In fact, Steve Young was the mold of today’s mobile quarterbacks.

The slick lefty retired with the all-time greatest passer rating (96.8) and completion percentage (64.3) and also currently ranks fifth all-time in yards per rush (5.9).  In the mid-to-late 90’s, Young displayed the most elite combination of accuracy and mobility in the league and he also had a ton of grit to him.

Young’s Super Bowl win over the Chargers after the 1994 season puts him ahead of Kelly on this list however overall, the debate between the two isn’t as close.
