The Denver Broncos are hoping to get Wes Welker back before the start of the season this Sunday and it appears that might be the case. After suffering a concussion earlier in the preseason, Welker is returning to limited practice and may end up being cleared to play by Sunday.

More from Denver Broncos

According to the Denver Post, the Broncos are expecting Wes Welker to play Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts.

"Based on his progress late last week, Broncos slot receiver Wes Welker is expected to practice on a limited basis Monday. If all goes well, he could be cleared to fully participate in practice Wednesday or Thursday. That would put him on pace to play in the season opener Sunday night against the Colts at Sports Authority Field at Mile High"

The Broncos need Welker as a weapon on the field but it’s getting hard to watch him play. While there is the fantasy football aspect to it that has owners being mindful of Welker’s injury status, the fact that he gets concussed pretty much from sneezing is hard to accept.

Football is a violent game, we all known that, but Welker is defying the odds in the most uncomfortable of ways and no one really seems that concerned.
