The Atlanta Braves’ offense is seriously struggling once again. Having already been no-hit this week, they now face the prospect of trying to score enough runs to win games without one of their best hitters.

More from Atlanta Braves

According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Upton had to leave Atlanta’s game with an arm injury on Tuesday after being hit by a pitch and is considered day to day:

"Braves left fielder Justin Upton left Tuesday’s game against the Phillies with a left triceps contusion. He is listed as day-to-day, according to the team.Upton was hit by a pitch in the first inning by Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick. Upton remained in the game until the top of the sixth inning when he was replaced defensively by Ryan Doumit."

Not that there would ever be a good time for this injury, but this is especially bad timing for the Braves. Consider the following tidbits from Bob Nightengale of USA Today after the team’s 4-0 loss to the Phillies on Tuesday.

Upton is batting .286/.358/.516 this season with 26 home runs and 91 RBI, a nice bounce-back season individually even though his team has struggled to consistently score runs.
