Week one is over and we’re on to week two. There were some surprises in week one including Texas A&M’s rout of South Carolina and Florida State’s close game against Oklahoma State, but the betting odds for title chances didn’t change too much going into Week 2.

More from College Football

Betting odds, courtesy of Las Vegas Hotel, show that Florida State still leads with odds of 7-2. FSU’s defense especially struggled against Oklahoma State, but they were bailed out after a J.W. Walsh fumble with five minutes left in the game. Florida State wasn’t that impressive and neither was Jameis Winston who threw two interceptions. Florida State faces Citadel next week and will face Clemson in Week 3 that will serve as another challenge.

Oregon and Alabama sit at 7-1 odds. Not much has changed. Both teams blew out minimal opponents and their rankings didn’t budge.

Georgia’s odds have moved up to 10-1 after an absolutely dominant performance against Clemson where Heisman contender Todd Gurley rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns. Georgia looks like it could finally challenge SEC powerhouses Alabama and Auburn. Georgia hasn’t won a national title since 1980, but chances are beginning to look good.

Other notable odds include LSU at 15-1, Baylor at 20-1, Michigan State at 25-1, Stanford low odds at 50-1, Missouri at 100-1, Ole Miss at 40-1, Michigan at 100-1, Vanderbilt at 5,000-1, Washington State and Utah State at 9,999-1.

Bottom line: Surprises will occur, but maybe hold off on betting on Washington State and Utah State until next year.
