LSU had one member of its offensive line conspicuously absent last weekend, as center Elliot Porter was not dressed for the contest against Wisconsin. He won’t be suiting up for the Tigers’ home opener this weekend either according to a report from The Advocate.

As LSU takes on Sam Houston State, Porter will be sitting out the second of a two-game suspension the school handed down according to sources for The Advocate.

It appears the suspension is related to a some abnormalities associated with pay from a summer job that Porter had.

Porter was expected to be the starting center for the Tigers this season, but it was sophomore Ethan Pocic who jogged out on the field to take on Wisconsin last weekend.

The 6’4″, 297-pound center may not be getting his starting job back upon return either, as he was locked a pretty good battle with Pocic all fall camp and narrowly beat him out before this suspension occurred. However, Pocic played extremely well and another good performance on Saturday may make it hard for head coach Les Miles to take him out of the lineup.

Porter was one of two suspended starters for the Wisconsin game, as he was joined by cornerback Rashard Robinson on the suspended list.

LSU spokesmen refused to comment on the information given to The Advocate, or on the nature of the suspension for Porter at all.
