Report: Orlando Scandrick suspension will be lifted when new drug policy begins
By Dan Zinski
The NFL is working with the NFLPA to get a new drug policy put in place, and as soon as this process is completed there are expected to be some changes in the statuses of players currently being punished under the old policy.

Both Josh Gordon and Wes Welker could reportedly have their suspensions reduced and or eliminated when the new policy is in place. And then there’s Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick, who is suspended for the first four games of the season after reportedly testing positive for MDMA aka Molly.
Per Clarence Hill of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram, Scandrick will have his suspension lifted as soon as the new policy is made official. The NFL and the union reportedly want the policy put together and implemented before Sunday’s full slate of games.
Scandrick claimed he unknowingly ingested Molly while drinking a cocktail during a vacation in Mexico over the summer. Suspended Broncos WR Wes Welker similarly claims to have taken Molly unwittingly during a trip to the Kentucky Derby.
Under the new policy, thresh holds for a positive test would be raised to standards similar to those employed by the Olympics. The NFL currently has more stringent standards for marijuana than the US military, which is comical when you really think about it.
With any luck the new policy will get hammered out by Sunday and some of these suspensions will go away. Men receiving punishment for ingesting tiny amounts of drugs, wittingly or unwittingly, is ridiculous and serves no purpose.
