The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics are both looking to make upgrades and are at the center of plenty of rumors. Usually, those rumors include two names – Knicks’ guard Iman Shumpert and Celtics’ forward Jeff Green, which has led to speculation they could be in the same deal.

However, Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors believes a swap of Shumpert and Green is unlikely.

"I would think the Knicks hang up, since cap space is a priority for the summer of 2015 and I’d opt in for that $9.2MM if I were Jeff Green. Plus, I think the Knicks would like to get back more of an impact player in return for Shump. (Loved you with the Celtics in the 50s, Bob! Too bad you couldn’t stick around a couple more seasons to get a title in Russell’s first year.)"

Shumpert put up 6.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 37.8% from the field, 33.3% from beyond the arc and 74.6% from the free throw line last season. In his three-year career, the 17th-overall pick in the first round has put up 7.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 39.1% from the floor, 34.2% from three and 77.5% from beyond the arc.  Green averaged 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 41.2% from the field, 34.1% from beyond the arc and 79.5% from the free throw line for the Celtics last season.  He has  averaged 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 44.1% from the floor, 34.4% from three and 78.3% from the charity stripe in his career.
