Under head coach Charlie Strong, the Louisville Cardinals recruited at a higher level than they ever have. Now, with Bobby Petrino in command for the second time, they are looking to continue that upswing.

More from College

On Monday, they landed a very talented junior college prospect that shows they are continuing to head in the right direction when 3-Star wide receiver Paul Harris gave his pledge to the Cardinals.

Harris is a 6’4, 200-pounder who currently attends Iowa Western Community College. Harris is originally from Upper Marlboro, Maryland where he attened Frederick Douglass High School. He signed with the Tennessee Volunteers and caught just one pass in his career before heading to IWCC.

Jody Demling of Scout.com broke the commitment and Harris also revealed himself via twitter.

Harris is ranked as the country’s ninth-best overall junior college prospect, the fourth-best overall junior college prospect in the state of Iowa and the 86th-best overall junior college prospect according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Harris picked up an offer from the Cardinals back in April and then took a visit to the Cardinals in June, which he clearly enjoyed. He also has interest from the Boise State Broncos, Central Florida Knights, East Carolina Pirates and TCU Horned Frogs. Coming out of high school, he held offers from the Maryland Terrapins, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Oregon Ducks and Southern Cal Trojans, among many others.

Louisville now has 17 commitments and their class is ranked 36th nationally.
