Since firing Mike Leach, who is now the coach of the Washington State Cougars, and losing his replacement, Tommy Tuberville, to  the Cincinnati Bearcats, the Texas Tech Red Raiders have done a good job of restoring their image.

More from College Football

It all started with the hiring of Kliff Kingsbury to replace Tuberville.

Kingsbury was once a record-setting quarterback for the Red Raiders under Leach and earned a fantastic reputation as an offensive coordinator. He worked under Texas A&M Aggies’ head coach Kevin Sumlin with both the Aggies (where he coached Johnny Manziel) and the Houston Cougars.

Under Kingsbury, the Red Raiders started 7-0 in 2013 before losing five consecutive games to what were probably the five best teams in the Big 12. They rebounded with a victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Holiday Bowl. The Red Raiders have looked shaky so far this season but are 2-0 after 42-35 win over Central Arkansas and a 30-26 win over UTEP.

The Red Raiders have also done a better job on the recruiting trail. They are in the mix for more highly-touted prospects and even have a commitment from 5-Star quarterback Jarrett Stidham.

If the Red Raiders are having so much success with a former player, why not honor the past?

That’s exactly what the Red Raiders will do on Saturday. They’ll be wearing throwback uniforms when they host the Arkansas Razorbacks. You can check them out below.

The Red Raiders and Razorbacks will kick-off at 3:30 pm EST and the game is on ABC.
