While the Sacramento Kings have teased the idea of a new basketball court, they’ve yet to officially release any renderings.

What they did do was show media photographs of the new court being constructed/painted which included a very stark difference. No longer will the baselines be covered in black but rather purple, the Sacramento Kings’ main color. In addition the team will add their secondary crown logo to each of the key elbows.
Running through the NBA’s best courts, Grantland discussed the alleged Sacramento Kings court.
"The two corner crowns are a nice decorative touch, but I’ve never been a fan of the huge and messy variation of the Kings’ logo that populates center court; only four logos soak up more square footage. There is a ton of purple here, and we’ll have to see how it looks as a finished product on a grand scale."
Sacramento has also decided to ditch their previous uniform script and return to the font they so proudly wore during their glory years in the early 2000’s. Given that, it’s still not known as to what logo the Kings will use at center court. Will they run with their current logo as shown on the photo? Or will they decide to use the ‘KINGS’ script as they’ve been using on a significant amount of merchandise (including their draft cap)? At this point the decision is being kept quiet though the new court looks like a solid improvement.
The Kings are scheduled to open their new downtown arena in 2016. There’s no word if the current court design will make the transition, though that seems unlikely.
