Wake had three tackles, two sacks, two more hits on QB Tom Brady, and two forced fumbles in the Dolphins’ comeback win over the Patriots. Brady and company failed to score any points in the second half after starting the third quarter with a 20-10 lead. Wake was a monster against the Patriots and even when he wasn’t piling up a stat, he was forcing early throws from Brady, which broke the rhythm he’d formed with Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman in the first half.
Cameron Wake was last named Player of the Week after Week 9 of the 2013 season, when the Dolphins played the Cincinnati Bengals. He was also named AFC Defensive Player of the Month in October 2012.
The Dolphins will need more of the same from Wake when the team travels north to Buffalo to play a charged Bills team coming off an overtime victory over the Bears. EJ Manuel has struggled with fierce pass rushes in the past so Cameron Wake should be a tough test for Manuel and the Buffalo offensive line.
