Alabama’s Nick Saban: We have a lot less selfishness on this team than in the past
By Jack Crosby
The Alabama Crimson Tide are off to a 2-0 start to this season, however it hasn’t been as easy as a lot of people may have thought. To start the season in the Georgia Dome, they got a much better fight from the West Virginia Mountaineers than they or anyone else thought they would, but they walked away with the 33-23 win. The team came together on that night, displaying a tremendous amount of unselfishness.

And Nick Saban is taking notice.
In speaking to reporters on Thursday, Saban noted that he believes this group of players are not as selfish as some of the other units that he has had in the past in Tuscaloosa.
Considering that Saban has led the Tide to three national championships during his time there, this is a tremendous accomplishment to be given out to this year’s team.
However, despite their success, this isn’t the first time that we’ve heard about some players from past teams displaying some selfish traits. Prior to the NFL Draft, former quarterback AJ McCarron noted that he had some issues with the younger, highly-touted high school players that thought they could come in and be handed everything.
While this wasn’t a dig by Saban toward his past teams by any means, it was definitely a good sign for the players that are there now, trying to get Saban his fourth title as coach of the Tide.
