According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, Beasley still could sign with the Lakers.
"The word from Beasley’s camp is that he has really put in some solid work this summer and is simply looking for a chance to play. Beasley is still being paid by the Phoenix Suns by virtue of a buyout, so it’s more about fit for Beasley than anything. His camp understands that if he lands somewhere and flames out, that his career in the NBA may be finished, so there is some deliberateness to the process. It is very possible that Beasley is not on a roster when camp opens, and looks for opportunities as the season progresses and injuries start to mount. As things stand today a deal with the Lakers is still possible, it just does not seem likely."
Beasley’s lack of interest from the Heat has reportedly turned some teams off.
Beasley put up 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 55 games last season. He shot 49.9% from the floor, 38.9% from beyond the arc and 77.2% from the free throw line. Beasley has played for the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns. The number two overall pick of the 2008 NBA Draft has averaged 13.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 45.0% from the floor, 34.8% from three and 75.8% from the charity stripe in his six-year career career.
