Will Ray Allen play during the 2014-2015 NBA season? Or will he decide to hang up the sneakers?

It appears the shooting guard himself is unaware of his plans as Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders notes the veteran remains ‘non-committed’ about his future in the league.

Allen has drawn significant interest this offseason from just about every contender including those who can pay the former All-Star more than a minimum level salary. Given that, it seems as if there should be at least one team that fits Allen’s desires.

Still, the guard sits without a job and appears to still be uncertain about what he wants to do.

"Sources close to the process say he still remains non-committed to playing in the upcoming season and until he decides he wants to play pegging him to one team or another seems unrealistic."

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the franchise most closely tied to Ray Allen as he’s said to have interest in playing alongside LeBron James again, though, has still been hesitant to commit.

Rumors have suggested that Ray Allen, after nearly two decades in the NBA, has grown tired of the rigors and wants to avoid training camp. Such makes sense and that could prove to be the reason behind Ray Allen’s desire not to agree upon a contract yet.

It’s hard to imagine Ray Allen walking away considering he’s still very talented and has a chance at another NBA title. Still, the grind of an 82-game schedule is tough and it’s possible Allen has simply had enough.
