With just a week or two before training camp is set to begin, the Los Angeles Lakers are attempting to bring in additional bodies.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

We’ve already heard the team has worked out point guard Pooh Jeter, but he’s not the only former NBA player to get a call as according to Emiliano Carchia, the Los Angeles Lakers have worked out five new players in total.

In addition to the previously mentioned Jeter, Ronnie Price, Wayne Ellington, Jeremy Tyler, and James Nunnally all put their talents on display in the Lakers’ El Segundo practice facility.

Four of the five players ironically have been a member of the Sacramento Kings organization, including Wayne Ellington and Jeremy Tyler who were both released earlier this month.

Ellington, a former highly touted college star out of North Carolina has never matured into his game though has proven himself to be a deep threat in the NBA. He’s no star by any stretch, but he could help the the Los Angeles Lakers off the end of their bench. The same can be said for both Pooh Jeter and Ronnie Price as both have previously been starting point guards in the league (namely due to injury) and would be more than adequate as a third point off the bench behind Jeremy Lin and Steve Nash. Tyler and Nunnally on the other hand are unlikely to have much if any impact on the Lakers roster, assuming they were to receive a contract.
