After earning a come-from-behind 28-24 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers in week one, the 10th-ranked LSU Tigers made quick work of Sam Houston State last week, defeating the Bearkats 56-0.

More from College Football

LSU will return to action on Saturday night when they host an in-state team, the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.

For the Tigers, this is their final tune-up before they enter SEC play – they’ll welcome the Mississippi State Bulldogs to Baton Rouge on September 20 (although they do get a break the following week when they host the New Mexico State Aggies).

It will be a chance for the Tigers to allow Anthony Jennings to continue to develop as he seemingly continues to take a hold of the starting quarterback job over freshman Brandon Harris (for now, at least). It also be interesting to see if five-star freshman running back Leonard Fournette does another Heisman Trophy pose if he scores (my guess is no).

The Warhawks have gotten off to a nice start, defeating a power-five team in the Wake Forest Demon Deacons of the ACC 17-10 in week one (although the word power should be used very loosely when describing Wake Forest) and then following that up with a 38-31 win over the Idaho Vandals, a Sun Belt Conference opponent. However, LSU is a 31-point favorite (the over/under is 49.5) and it will be a surprise if the game is competitive.
