Carmelo Anthony said he has been at the New York Knicks’ facility with several of his teammates, learning the triangle offense.

More from NBA

The Knicks brought in former Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson last spring to run the franchise and he hired his former point guard with the Lakers, Derek Fisher, as the Knicks head coach in June.

"“I haven’t been broadcasting it, man,” Anthony told ESPNNewYork.com. “But I’ve been at the facility for the last couple of weeks with the young guys, with the coaches, trying to figure out that triangle offense.”"

The Knicks brought in former Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson last spring to run the franchise and he hired his former point guard with the Lakers, Derek Fisher, as the Knicks head coach in June.

Fisher is expected to install the triangle this season, the offense that helped Michael Jordan win six NBA titles and Kobe Bryant capture five rings and Anthony says he “can’t wait” to learn that system.

“Without a doubt, without a doubt,” Anthony said. “When people say spots, I’m going to be all over the floor in the triangle. It makes it hard to guard, it keeps all eyes off of you. I’m looking forward to it, I’ve been saying it all summer. I can’t wait.”

Last spring was the first time in Anthony’s career that he didn’t play in the postseason and he sees the Knicks getting back to the playoffs in 2014-15.

While he’s not expecting New York to compete for a title this season, Anthony says the complexion of the Eastern Conference is vastly different than it was a few months ago.

"“Every year is different,” Anthony said. “Last year I don’t think nobody thought Toronto would do what they [did]. I don’t think nobody thought the Wizards was going to do what they did last year.“So every year is always different. Of course Cleveland is the top right now. Chicago will always be there. But as far as basketball goes, I’m excited to get back and play on the court because I know what we have with the New York Knicks and we’re only going to get better. So I’m excited about that.”"
