A solid passer and scorer, there’s never been much of a question regarding Jeremy Lin’s offensive abilities.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

The same can’t be said about Lin on the defensive end as the Los Angeles Lakers point guard has routinely been subpar with his defense. However, with Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott stressing an improvement on the defensive side of the ball this season, Jeremy Lin has taken the request to heart.

Lin, who was traded by the Houston Rockets to the Lakers this offseason, posted a video of his workout regiment and showed the exercises which he believes will help him become a better defender.

In addition to the video of Lin, the point guard posted the following caption on his Instagram post.

"This offseason I have been working really hard on my defense, footwork, and explosiveness. A huge component that I needed to work on is my core stability (having good posture, being able to stay low in my defensive stance, and being able to stay balanced while absorbing contact). Only 19 days left till training camp…can’t wait to get back on the court! #LakersNation #PurpleandGold"

Many believe that a solid team defense can be attributed to good play from the point guard position considering they are the default ball stopper.

Can Jeremy Lin become such a player? That seems unlikely given he doesn’t have the physical gifts to be such, though he can certainly improve as a defender and help the Los Angeles Lakers overall.

Lin is believed to be the likely starter for the Lakers this season.
