For his part, Moreno was looking for an opportunity to prove that his production last season was more than a result of the fact that he was playing in an offense with Peyton Manning. Both Moreno and the Dolphins had their respective plans thwarted by an injury during the team’s week 2 game on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
Moreno sustained a fairly serious injury: Pro Football Talk reports that Moreno is expected to miss four weeks with a dislocated elbow.
Coming off a career year for the Broncos in 2013, Moreno made a statement with his performance in his Miami debut last week. In his team’s victory over the New England Patriots in week 1, Moreno ran for 134 yards and a touchdown.
With Moreno out, the rushing load will shift back to Miller and an improved Miami offensive line. More news will come from the team in the coming days as far as the details of Moreno’s absence, but given the fact that it is an elbow injury, one assumes that four weeks will be the minimum amount of time missed.
