Before the NFL season started, Peyton Manning and Damaryius Thomas were expected to rival Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson for the most touchdown connections this year. However, in Week 1, Johnson caught seven balls for 164 yards and two touchdowns and Thomas didn’t score once.

Meanwhile, Manning found the other Thomas–Julius–more often than Damaryius. The tight end finished with seven catches for 104 yards and three touchdowns while the wide receiver had just four receptions for 48 yards and never found the end zone.

Manning finally connected with Damaryius Thomas in Week 2, finding his target on a left corner fade for a touchdown. Thomas went up over two Kansas City Chiefs to make the grab.

The 12-yard score put Denver up 21-10 over their AFC West rivals. Manning continued where he left off from Week 1, finding Julius Thomas for the first score and then Jacob Tamme in the second quarter to go up 14-10 before finally finding Demaryius.

So far, Demaryius has four catches for 61 yards. Manning is 15-of-19 passing for 191 yards and three touchdowns.
