The third-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide have started 3-0 but much like the top-ranked Florida State Seminoles, they haven’t exactly been impressive doing it (of course if Clint Trickett and the West Virginia Mountaineers keeping lighting up opposing defenses, the Tide’s 33-23 victory over the Mountaineers to open the season will continue to look better). On Saturday, the Tide should get their biggest test of the early season when they welcome the 2-0 Florida Gators to town. The Gators struggled in a 36-30 triple overtime win over the Kentucky Wildcats Saturday night but are clearly the most talented team the Tide have seen thus far.

The Tide may be getting some good news heading into their SEC opener. Wide receiver DeAndrew White and cornerback Jarrick Williams could be back in the lineup when they kick-off with the Gators on Saturday afternoon (3:30 pm EST, CBS).

White caught six passes for 73 yards in the opener but injured his shoulder and hasn’t played since. Alabama head coach Nick Saban is hopeful he will return.

“We’ll see how it goes with him and make a decision later in the week and see if we think he’s able to play,” Saban said via Michael Casagrande of AL.com.

The news doesn’t sound as positive for Williams, who broke his foot against West Virginia. Saban called him a “longshot” to play in Saturday’s game. With the Tide’s struggles in the back end on defense, Williams should provide a huge lift when he returns.
