Dez Bryant overcomes injury for big Week 2 performance
By Cory Buck
The Dallas Cowboys needed a win, which meant they needed Dez Bryant and the rest of the Cowboys skill players to step up big and help QB Tony Romo get past the Tennessee Titans. Mission easily accomplished, thanks to a fluid gameplan that took what was given to the Dallas offense.

The Titans started the game double-teaming Bryant, which the receiver enjoyed. “I’m OK with it because that means one of my other beasts – talking about the wideouts or D-Mo [DeMarco Murray] – have to come through and make a play,” Bryant said per the Star-Telegram.
Murray broke out for a big game rushing with lots of yards and a touchdown early. Once the defense shifted to address the running game, Bryant and the passing game took over. Bryant finished the game with 10 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown despite having to briefly leave the game with a shoulder injury.
“I’ll fight through anything,” Bryant said of his injury. “It’s good. It might be sore in the morning, but it’s good right now.”
After a desultory loss to the San Francisco 49ers in their home opener, the Dallas Cowboys are back to ‘good right now’ status in a lot of ways. Now the team is hoping to avoid its perpetual .500 streak that has dogged it for years. If they’re going to do that, they’ll need even more games from their stars like they had in Week 2.
