The New Orleans Saints have all the ability in the world to make it to the Super Bowl this season and contend for the title. Just ask any number of analysts prior to the start of the NFL season who their Super Bowl picks were, and it would be more than likely to hear the Saints’ name be thrown around more than a few times.

Now, two weeks later, the Saints are 0-2 after losing two games by a combined 5 points. Although it has been a tough start, there is plenty of time for the Saints to fix their issues and improve, but they need to do it quickly.

According to All-Pro quarterback Drew Brees, the team is just one or two plays away from winning both games, and they need to convert on those crucial downs.

“It is very easy to lose in the way that we’ve lost,” Brees told Saints media after the 26-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns. “You can point to one play in each of these games. We were one play away in each of these games from being 2-0 as opposed to 0-2. That hurts. It’s frustrating. I know how hard we work. Obviously, the expectation level coming into it, but now we’ve just got to bear down, stay together and understand that if you keep doing things the right way, good things are going to happen. We just need to break the seal. We just need to get our first win and I’m confident things will get rolling from there.”

If anyone can lead their team out of an 0-2 hole, it would be Drew Brees and head coach Sean Payton. The Saints play host to the Minnesota Vikings next week, and we will find out how the Saints respond to their 0-2 start.
