THE NFL has had arguably the worst week in the league’s history in early to mid-September. The video tape of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice hitting his then-fiancee, followed by the scandal over the NFL’s handling of the investigation tarnished the shield commissioner Roger Goodell tries so hard to protect.

Then to cap the week was news of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson beating his four-year old son with a stick to the point of him bleeding, and currently is facing child abuse charges.

The Vikings acted quickly to deactivate Peterson for Sunday’s game and earned the praise of those around the league for acting swiftly to do what was morally right. Then on Monday they reinstated him, allowing him to play while he awaits trial.

Which won’t likely happen till after the season.

That is ESPN’s Keith Olbermann’s cue. Olbermann has been leading the crusade against the NFL, which he has renamed the National Freefall League, calling for Goodell’s resignation.

With the news of Peterson’s reinstatement, Olbermann decided to not only rip the NFL and Goodell, but ripped the Vikings for their stance on it while pointing out the franchise’s own contradictions and hypocrisy, all while painting a rather vivid image of what trasnpired between Peterson and his son.
