When will Robert Griffin III return for Redskins?
By Josh Hill
The Washington Redskins not only might have to change the name of their team, but they may have to christen Robert Griffin III with the title of ‘injury prone’ following this latest start by their franchise quarterback. Griffin dislocated his ankle on Sunday and will be out for a still undetermined amount of time, but it will mark the third consecutive season in which he can’t play all 16 games on the schedule.

Initial reports indicated that Griffin would be out for the season, which would have been devestating on Matthew Stafford levels. The Lions quarterback is a star now, but many forget that in his early years he couldn’t seem to stay healthy at all. Griffin is in the same boat now but his season doesn’t appear to be over.
The latest report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is that Griffin will be out 4-5 weeks, meaning his season is far from being classified as ‘over’.
Still, we don’t know for sure just how long Griffin will be out as rushing him back yet again from an injury may be fatal not only to the Redskins but to Griffin’s career. He suffered a concussion and a torn ACL in his rookie season, was benched in his second season and now has a dislocated ankle in his second game into his junior season in the NFL.
A return date of four to five weeks is optimistic, to say the least, and irresponsible in reality.
