Buffalo Bills GM: Sammy Watkins is going to get doubled more
By Cory Buck
It took all of two weeks for Sammy Watkins to have the breakthrough game everyone in the Buffalo Bills front office envisioned when the team traded an extra first and fourth round pick in 2015 to land him. Watkins posted eight catches for 117 receiving yards and a touchdown in the team’s Week 2 tilt against the Miami Dolphins, prompting Bills GM Doug Whaley to laud his efforts in a recent interview.

Whaley visited WGR 550 AM in Buffalo on Tuesday morning to discuss Watkins and had this to say, per the station’s Twitter.
Fortunately for Buffalo, they are prepared for the inevitability of teams doubling Watkins. After all, the Dolphins took Robert Woods out of the Week 2 match because Woods had a great game in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.
The Bills went all-in on skill positions this offseason and now it appears to be paying off. Watkins looked a legitimate #1 receiver in just his second NFL game and with Woods, Mike Williams and Marquise Goodwin waiting in the fold, QB EJ Manuel will have plenty of targets to find should Watkins get lost in coverage.
