The soon-to-be-announced new NFL drug policy will allow a handful of previously suspended players to see their punishments revoked.

More from Miami Dolphins

Unfortunately for the Miami Dolphins, suspended defensive end Dion Jordan won’t be among them, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. His fellow teammate, Reshad Jones, might have better luck.

"The Dolphins have two such players — safety Reshad Jones and defensive end Dion Jordan — suspended under that policy. But multiple sources told The Miami Herald that Jordan will not have his suspension revoked once the new policy is announced as agreed to. The announcement on a new policy is expected soon. Those same sources were not in agreement whether Jones would be returned to the Dolphins active roster."

It’s a tough break for the Dolphins not to get Jordan back. 2014 is a crucial year for Jordan, who wasn’t exactly spectacular throughout his rookie year in 2013. Jordan was a strong candidate to have a bounce back season, but it appears he’ll have to wait until Week 6 to get his chance to display his talents.

Though, that pain could be eased by an early return for Jones, who posted 107 tackles and one sack during the 2013 season.

Jordan, the Dolphins’ first-round pick (No. 3 overall) out of Oregon in 2013, registered 26 tackles and two sacks last season.

The Dolphins defense has faired well without Jordan and Jones, giving up the ninth fewest yards in the NFL through two games.

Miami’s next game is this Sunday at home versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
